module c2: CONFORMITY TO TYPE BASED ON INTERNAL PRODUCTION CONTROL PLUS SUPERVISED PRODUCT CHECKS AT RANDOM INTERVALS

  • The part of a conformity assessment procedure whereby the manufacturer fulfils the obligations of manufacturing, application, marking and declaration of conformity. They ensure and declare on their sole responsibility that the PPE is in conformity with the type described in the type-examination certificate and satisfies the applicable requirements of this Regulation.
  • This is an option suitable for manufacturers of  Risk Category III PPE who do not have an approved Quality System.
  • We carry out the necessary checks on the PPE by selecting samples at least once per year, and sufficient testing to show conformity with the original type model, with Regulation 2016/425 and with the relevant designated standards.
  • How?
  • We create a 5-year testing schedule for each PPE undergoing Module C2 that covers all critical tests over the cycle while checking safety-critical properties every year.
